Hundreds of Easter eggs donated to children in Widnes and Runcorn

Hundreds of Easter eggs donated to children in Widnes and Runcorn Hundreds of children in Halton enjoyed Easter treats last weekend thanks to a charity appeal that refused to be halted by the pandemic. Construction Consortium Merseylink and tolling operator Merseyflow donated £750 worth of Easter eggs to Halton Easter Egg Appeal. The organisations behind the Mersey Gateway Bridge stepped in to buy the eggs when Coronavirus restrictions meant that residents were unable to drop off donations this year and they were given to children’s centres across the borough. Denise Caldwell, early help officer with Runcorn Children’s Centres, said: “It’s great that we were still able to provide some Easter eggs to local children in both Runcorn and Widnes and I’d like to thank the teams at Merseylink and Merseyflow for their support.”
