Ashir Hassan Kimbrough, 32, of Champlin, was found competent to proceed in the criminal case against him after a June 7 hearing in Kandiyohi County District Court. Court records indicate Kimbrough and his attorney planned on relying on a defense of mental illness or cognitive impairment. Kimbrough was charged for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman in a Spicer hotel in February of 2022.
Matthew Paul Herr-Ramirez will undergo a competency evaluation before the criminal case against him proceeds. Herr-Ramirez was arrested Oct. 17 for allegedly threatening to shoot people at his high school. He is currently on conditional release.
