Multiple posts on Facebook and Twitter claim a rise in tiny particle air pollutants, known as PM 2.5, will significantly increase the mortality rate of Covid-19 in Thailand. The claim is misleading; doctors told AFP that as of December 2020, there is no evidence to support that a rise in PM 2.5 would significantly increase the Covid-19 mortality rate in Thailand. The professor cited in the misleading posts said her comments had been âmisrepresentedâ.
