Jasmine Peters knows what she has to do this Saturday when she runs on to QBC Stadium for the Indigenous All-Stars match.
Granted itâs a bigger arena but at just 18, the Mackay product has the representative runs on the board to leave her mark in the Indigenous Womenâs All-Stars v NZ MÄori Ferns in Townsville.
And you can guarantee there will be a loud and proud Peters contingent in the stadium backing their playerâs every move.
âVery proud, as a dad and as a coach, and very proud for mum who is Indigenous and that whole side of the family,â dad Marco Peters said.
Moranbah Miners coach Paul Bramley says sitting out the 2020 Rugby League Mackay and District season was a blessing in disguise, as the former Mackay Cutters boss readies his side for a return to action this year.
When we last heard from Bramley he declared his title as Moranbah coach was nothing more than “fake news” until he led the proud club in an official fixture.
His comments came after the Miners made the difficult decision to withdraw from the restructured 2020 RLMD season, due to concerns over potentially bringing COVID-19 from Mackay back to the mining town.
But the season away has done a world of good for the club and its new coach, Bramley said.

Hundreds of games worth of NRL and Queensland Cup experience will lead the Moranbah Miners into the 2021 Rugby League Mackay and District season.
The club has welcomed a host of notable names – some household – ahead of a return to the RLMD set-up, after sitting out last year’s restructured season due to COVID-19.
Perhaps the most notable addition to local footy fans is that of former Mackay Cutters skipper Cooper Bambling, who departed the Intrust Super Cup side for the Miners last off-season. Cooper Bambling.
But Bambling is not the only former Queensland Cup star set to call Moranbah home this go around.
