Karen Moen
Each year AAUW Duluth Educational Opportunities Fund recognizes members whose community service and branch contributions are exemplary. For 2020-2021, Karen Moen is honored. Moen is the branch coordinator for STEM. She has been involved with staff from three universities in planning and facilitating Sonia Kovalesky Day, a day offering mathematics activities for area high school girls. Moen also serves as the advertising coordinator for the branch scholarship fall fundraiser, Created Here: Meet the Artists, attends board meetings and participates in the literature group. Moen grew up in northern Minnesota, earned her bachelor s and master s degrees in mathematics from UMD and shares her love of mathematics as a senior lecturer at UWS.
