The Office of the President has been assisting Deputy Prime Minister Jan Hamáček in organizing his alleged trip to Moscow, the website SeznamZpravy reported on Sunday, adding that the news was confirmed by the president’s chief foreign policy advisor Rudolf Jindrák. Speaking to Czech Radio later in the day, Mr Jindrák denied the allegation, claiming that his words were misinterpreted. The news site Seznam.Cz published an article last Sunday in which multiple sources said Mr Hamáček considered negotiating with Moscow for anti-coronavirus vaccines in exchange for Prague’s silence over the alleged involvement of Russian agents in the deadly Vrbětice explosions of 2014.

Czech Republic opens embassy office in Jerusalem

The Czech Republic has confirmed its friendly relations with Israel, becoming only the second EU country to open a branch of its embassy in Jerusalem.
