GENEVA: Countries need to increase their taxes on alcohol and sugar-sweetened beverages, the World Health Organization (WHO) said Tuesday, saying too few states were using tax to incentivize healthier behaviors.
WHO urged governments on Tuesday to increase taxes on alcoholic drinks and impose them on products that are currently exempt, such as wine in some European countries.
