Bold Star returned with a slashing run to go down a head in the Rubiton Stakes but struck trouble when finishing 10th in a bunched Oakleigh Plate finish, beaten fewer than three lengths. Streets of Avalon has done it and wins the C.F Orr Stakes.
Nichols’ wife Brooke also had to monitor her excitement levels in the exciting finish as she is due to give birth this month.
