KONRADMAN S FIGHT PICKS 5/20-5/22!!! By konmanrad on May 20, 2021, 3:18am EDT 1
More fight picks, but this week the obvious highlight is the monster unification bout between Josh Taylor and Jose Ramirez. For the record, I ve managed to go 25 for 28 since posting these here over the past three weeks. (Since October I have managed 126 out of 156 on picking wins, with those posted over on my Facebook page.) But this week. I m going out on a limb in a couple of fights. Just thought you should know. In short, there are sleeper bouts and sleeper picks for the weekend, so be warned. Otherwise. off we go:

Robeisy Ramirez is undefeated since his debut loss to Adan Gonzales, one he would go on to avenge in August of last year. Juan Tapia’s most notable fight to date came against Shakur Stevenson in an eight-round shutout back in 2018. Stevenson of course would like his own shot at revenge against Robeisy Ramirez, who defeated him for the gold medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics. This fight gives us a chance to see how both boxers stack up against a common opponent, although that rematch won’t happen anytime soon. Stevenson’s already won a belt and seeking more at 130, while Ramirez is still developing as a prospect and looks like he’ll be settling in at 126 for the foreseeable future.

Another weekend, more winners, more wondering what’s next. And another weekend where there’s no clear answer in really any case, but a lot of possibilities, some of which could even be interesting!
Emanuel Navarrete
Navarrete’s win over Christopher Diaz saw him retain the WBO featherweight title, but also considering the possibility that he might have to move up to 130 to get a big fight, which is what he says he wants.
He does sound like he’d rather stay at 126, unifying with WBC titlist Gary Russell Jr or WBA titlist Leo Santa Cruz. Neither is likely; both are PBC fighters. Santa Cruz is a deep Haymon loyalist, and despite what Russell has ever said about being a promotional free agent, he just keeps fighting only on PBC cards.
Top Rank returned with Navarrete vs Diaz this weekend.
Emmanuel Navarrete defended his WBO Featherweight title for the first time, as he finally broke down the tough as nails Christopher Diaz to score a final round stoppage win.
The fight topped a card in front of a partisan crowd at Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee, Florida, on a Top Rank promoted bill. Navarrete was coming off a tougher than expected points win against Ruben Villa to win the vacant title in October 2020, while Diaz was challenging for a world title for a second time.
The brave Diaz took a lot of punishment here, but was spirited and competitive, down four times in all before being rescued by his corner with just eleven seconds of the contest remaining.
