Mexico has passed a bill to legalise recreational cannabis use, putting it on the path towards being the world’s largest cannabis market and potentially triggering conflict between cartels and growers.
Some analysts believe the groundbreaking vote raises the prospect of an uptick in violence from Mexico’s notorious drug cartels, as they attempt to capitalise on a burgeoning industry.
