EC yet to receive DR forms from 23 polling stations in Kampala

Results from 23 polling stations in Kampala did not make it to the Electoral Commission’s final tally sheet after their declaration forms disappeared before reaching tally centre in Kyambogo.
The said polling stations account for 22,103 registered voters and are part of the 83 stations across the country whose results were nullified by the EC. The highest number of these were from Kawempe North. According to data obtained from the EC, results from 13 polling stations in this division were never captured. On the same list are six polling stations from Kawempe South and four from Rubaga South electoral areas.

This is after Electoral Commission delivered the wrong polling ballot papers in Rubaga South.
This has affected District City woman councillors. The first people who voted, ticked people they didn’t know. Voting has currently been suspended at the two polling stations.
It has happened in 3 polling stations to include, Kyengonge parking yard polling station, St cecilia polling station and at Bulwa polling station where mayoral candidate Erias Lukwago is set to cast his vote.
At Bulwa however, the right material has been delivered and polling resumed at 8am according to Joseph Lukowe, an EC presiding officer there.
At St Cecilia polling station, the first 8 people voted for people they didn’t know as wrong ballot papers were delivered and voting here is still posed.

Our reporter at Kyengombe park yard polling station in Rubaga South said by 7.30am, no polling agent had arrived but the voters were still waiting.
At Lugala Namungona Kigobe polling station, voters had already come in big numbers by 7am but polling material had not arrived yet.
Fatuma Nakawunga, a polling assistant at the polling station, said that the Electoral Commission (EC) had assured them that polling material would be available as early as 6am but they were also not sure what was happening.
