Mega Networks is one of two Indian companies to be selected for the production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme 2.0 for IT hardware, under which the government provides an incentive of around 5% on net incremental sales of goods manufactured in India.
Imports of personal computers into India also declined 55 per cent year-on-year to USD 1.06 billion from the world during November-February 2024. On October 19 last year, the government tweaked curbs on imports of laptops and computers as it allowed importers to bring in shipments of IT hardware from overseas on a mere "authorisation" upon detailing quantity and value.
"If you look at our business in India, we are the second biggest employee base in the world after the US. We look exactly like the US in the sense that we have every functional capability that we have globally, sitting in India.
