Gracie Barra Oval School breaks Covid-19 rules

A host of businesses in Lambeth face thousands of pounds’ worth of fines if they continue to breach Covid-19 rules.   Lambeth Council and the Met Police took legal action against a martial arts gym in Oval and six other businesses that stayed open when they should have been shut.   Gracie Barra Oval School was issued a prohibition notice, which orders the business to stop illegal activity immediately, on January 8.  The business will now be monitored to make sure the order is followed.   Previous legal action during the November lockdown resulted in the gym closing for two weeks.  If a business fails to comply it faces a £1,000 fine for a first offence, and up to £10,000 in fines for repeated breaches or where necessary court proceedings.
