A man suspected of being among several attackers of the leader of Kyrgyzstan's opposition Ata-Meken (Homeland) political party, Omurbek Tekebaev, has been detained in the capital, Bishkek.
The final count of votes for Kyrgyzstan’s parliamentary elections continues, but the controversy surrounding the elections took a new turn when the leader of one of the opposition parties disputing the preliminary results was assaulted on December 1.
