Carbon kitemarks to help shoppers make green choice Move forms part of government drive to cut UK’s industrial emissions by two-thirds in 15 years 17 March 2021 • 6:00am The Government is to introduce a low-carbon kitemark to enable consumers to choose greener products, as it aims to cut industrial emissions by two-thirds in 15 years, the business secretary will announce today.  A new Industrial Decarbonisation Strategy will also commit more than £1 billion to help install solar panels, LED lights and insulation to help schools, hospitals and councils to go green. It will also look at carbon pricing to ensure industry takes pollution into their business decisions, and invest £171 million for low carbon technology including carbon capture usage and storage projects in nine industrial areas across the north, Scotland and south Wales.
