Ipswich Town Women’s fairytale FA Cup journey came to an end at the hands of cup holders and WSL leaders Manchester City, as they suffered a 10-0 loss at the Academy Stadium.
Despite a spirited display from Joe Sheehan’s young side, hat-tricks from Pauline Bremer, Georgia Stanway and Jess Park hat-trick and a Laura Coombs strike condemned the Tractor Girls to defeat against their fully professional opponents.
Town had already won six matches to progress to this stage of the competition, following wins over Royston Town, Norwich, AFC Basildon, Chichester, Portsmouth and Huddersfield.
