supporting moore and donald trump and steve bannon are still very much in touch about making sure not to do anything to disintegrate his solid relationship with his base. then, of course, there s donald trump s personal history here that makes it complicated for him to weigh in. he s got a lot of women lined up with accusations against him. i think the last conversation he wants to be having is that whether or not he believes roy moore s accusers, because the obvious follow-up question is well, then, why should people not believe what the women are accusing you of? the president had tweeted out that he d be making a major announcement, leaving many people to think he would be weighing in on that roy moore. he announced no significant new agreements on either trade, north korea. so maybe he s got an announcement that he s going to make, but we didn t see it today. what did he accomplish on this trip? well, the president says that
i don t know if that s the motivation for anyone. and i certainly don t really care. you don t know if that s true, right? and i don t know if that is true because, again, you don t know what you read. you know, our president coined the name the term fake news and i m not calling you fake news or your organization at all if you don t know it s true, why do you bring it up? well, because of the things that are brought up that aren t necessarily true about judge moore. and i don t know i don t have any reason to know to pretend to know why these women are saying the things they re saying. the only evidence they ve offered is this year book and when it came into question it was a big deal but they made it a big deal as the piece of evidence that irrefutable says that roy moore did the things she said she did. and that s the only peace of proof, and we have gloria
they stand by the statement she issued publicly on sunday that she has no intention to change the date some say she backs roy moore even in the accusations yeah, the thinking inside the governor s office is we have a special election on the books december 12th to fulfill the remainder of jeff sessions term. it s not required that a new election date is set. she certainly has that power and may get pressure from the republican establishment in washington to do so but we have no indication that she s willing to do that yet. on the sessions front, again, nothing is going to move forward on the notion that jeff sessions as a write-in candidate unless donald trump makes it so and asked directly of his attorney general to do so and we have no indication that s happening yet. on that note, ivanka trump, the first daughter, she tweeted, gave a statement, there s a special place in hell of people
christian conservative voters as an organizing group is a lot more tribal mentality. russell moore, who has called out fellow christians for being so selective on the issue of their support and moral relativism with regard to roy moore, who heads-up the policy arm of the southern baptists said in previous forms i have been with him on. he said that people tend to identify, well, you have certain beliefs about certain issues. i m more likely to be associated with you rather than this is a kind of litmus test of missed faith. there is a practicality, a way of life that an evangelical christian is living and how a politician is encroaching on that. we are sticking with people who are not going to make us feel isolated but validate our way of life. it is a practical way of supporting someone politically that i think is separated from the true nature of faith. a.b., let s talk about the president s asia trip and one of the by-products that came out of
let s start with the moral question about roy moore. what is your position on the allegations against the candidate. allegations sound pretty credible to me. if i were roy moore, and i m not, i would give the alabama voters what they want. people are arguing. let the people decide. you should be a moral leader. you were put there to make the judgments. however, let the voters decide. if he wins, you would have a really tough task to expel him, the time, the distraction, who knows what happens. wouldn t be that easy to unseat him. should you have that ability to do that. i think the supreme court has ruled a duly elected senator needs to be sworn in.
