Sale of $1 45M Onslow County shell building would create 18 new jobs

The Daily News The Onslow County Board of Commissioners (BOC) will hold a public hearing at Monday’s meeting before deciding whether to sell a county owned shell building located at the Burton Business and Industrial Park to a California based contracting and design firm. RQ Construction, LLC, which has a regional office in Sneads Ferry and is a Department of Defense contractor, has offered the full listing price of $1,450,000 to acquire the second shell building built at the industrial park to date.  The Onslow County BOC is expected to accept the offer for the building’s 18.8 acre site located at 723 Luther Midgett Dr. If they do, the transaction could be completed that week and RQ Construction would be bringing to Jacksonville an estimated 18 jobs of an average hourly wage of $16.
