The Niagara County Department of Public Works said four of the county s parks - Burmaster at Bond Lake, West Canal Marina, Krull and Royalton Ravine - will officially open for the season this Friday, May 24. The parks are open from dawn until dusk. Oppenheim Park, which has undergone significant infrastructure work, will open Saturday, June 1.
Niagara County Legislator Shawn Foti today reminded residents that the county began accepting reservations for picnic shelters in county parks in March, and reservations are quickly filling up. The county operates five parks: Krull, Oppenheim, Royalton Ravine, West Canal Marina and Burmaster at Bond Lake.
As we head into Memorial Day Weekend and the unofficial start of summer - though you wouldn t know it by some of the weather we have had lately - I wanted to use this week s column to cover several different issues related to the coming months. The better weather always means there is a lot of activity going on in county government.
