NORTH ROYALTON, Ohio Two PTA members for the North Royalton City Schools have been awarded the Ohio PTA Achievement Award after being nominated by fellow PTA members.
The Ohio PTA Achievement Award was created to provide an opportunity to celebrate individuals who have rendered outstanding service to children and youth.
In January, the North Royalton High School PTA presented this award to two outstanding volunteers: Laurie Weiser, who was nominated by Leslie Stetler and Ashley DeAngelis; and Debbie Sexton, who was nominated by Becky Cozzens and Cristina Hornik.

Maj. Ryan Nowlin ’00, ’04 has two songs performed on Inauguration Day
BGSU alumnus has participated in three inaugurations since joining U.S. Marine Band in 2010

Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez and Garth Brooks were among the celebrity entertainers charged with kicking off Inauguration Day 2021 on Jan. 20 at the U.S. Capitol, celebrating the commencement of the four-year term of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
“The President’s Own” U.S. Marine Band, having performed at inaugurations for every president since Thomas Jefferson, provided the tradition.
Assistant Director Maj. Ryan J. Nowlin ’00, ’04 served as the backup conductor and wrote two songs for the inauguration. “Godspeed” was performed during the Inaugural Prelude and “Let Freedom Ring” was played as part of the Inaugural Ceremony. He also planned all of the band’s functions for the inauguration.

NORTH ROYALTON, Ohio North Royalton High School seniors Savannah Skorepa and Nick Taylor recently worked together to raise funds for a non-profit group that not only offers hope and compassion to members of society, but is close to the heart of NRHS counselor Monica Boduszek.
Both Savannah and Nick are members of the NRHS Key Club, an international student-led organization that gives students the opportunity to build character and leadership skills by performing acts of service in their communities.
