I am the Youth Commission staff. We wanted to come through to show that we create change not by thinking of how good everything works for the privileged folks. We think about change in how it treats the people on the margins, undocumented folks, black and brown folks and transand gender, nonconforming folks. We cannot forget what happened with the gladiator case against the sheriff which supervisor walton called for a hearing on accountability of the Sheriffs Department about how are people currently being treated. Right now we are thinking about longstanding promises and this is the problem we need to address right here. You will have the position and power to do that. Please listen to the plans and recommendations made already. Thank you. Next speaker. Hello. I am Third Generation san franciscan. I am calling for a change. This doesnt go far enough. It will send people to santa rita is wrong. People die at santa rita. The fact most Vulnerable People are at 850 and we are thinking of
They wont pencil out. Thats something we can do in the preliminary phase. I think this rfp is very different from the last one because the last one was only the bulkhead. This one is for the entire pier. And obviously the costs are very different today than what we looked at in 2012. So thats going to also put a different sort of qualifier on here as well. So i just think that i think commissioner brandon probably has the most experience in dealing with complex rfps because shes been on the commission the longest and seen whats been successful and not. But in my process, i think the scoring criteria is fine, and i think the waiting is appropriate, and the oral, i think the oral to me is not just being able to articulate well, its also a question of developing i guess the intangible factor the trust factor, the factors of how we are going to work with this developer that are intangible that come through in terms of the oral interview that perhaps somebody can talk well but do we trust t
Supervisor mandelman thank you. Next speaker. I am John Mccormick in the Community Organizing office. I am here to tell the story of cheryl china coworker and member of the tenderloin peoples congress. On wednesday of this week cheryl was attacked on the corner of golden gate and leavenworth across the street from my office. A whole can of mace was unloaded to her. She ran across the street and was briefly pursued by the gentleman who unloaded the mace on her. He unloaded a whole can of mace. Under no circumstance is that okay in any circumstance. Cheryl is very traumatized by this. She is not feeling good. She is in the condition i havent personally seen her in before, and she believes like i did that if we had treatment on demand, this never would have happened. Treatment on demand if it was implemented years ago, the Mental Health of the people in the tenderloin would be better and this never would happen. Cheryl isnt here because of the trauma she is facing. We talked before this s

By every account, including my own, he was a mentor and a friend to countless colleagues in the financial social justice and environmental fields. Earlier this year, his lifes work was honored with a dedication of the phil arnold trail in Golden Gate Park in february named in his honor. The trail maya goes through livk trees in the Northeast Corner of the park providing the type of respite from urban life that phil was so intent on preserving for fellow san franciscans. He married his wife of 33 years who i used to fondly and sometimes not so fondly refer to as the 12th member of the San Francisco board of supervisors many of the former deputy city controller monique in 1986 in addition to monique, and our hearts go out to her, he is survived by his sons, brother steve, nieces, christina and
