Ty brennan went out to the scene as crews battle the situation. Reporter the fire broke out at the scaup yard sending a huge plume of black smoke. Firefighters say it was difficult to get a handle on the fire because there is a lot of construction in the area and a lot of fire hydrants are not operating. This is the scene earlier today. The fire was at a scrap yard called we buy scrap. It was blaze. They called out a second alarm to make sure they had enough resources. They had two hazmat units on scene to be safe. The lack of working hydrants in the area was a bit of a hiccup. They were able to get the fire knocked out in half an hour. It is common for one or two hydrants are knocked out but we that it did not make a difference. Just a different challenge for us. Reporter a cause is being investigated. Their Apartment Unit with a bleeding man behind the wheel of the car. It happened around 27th avenue and camelback road. Courtney griffin has more. Reporter Phoenix Police say just before 2 00 this morning, a man was shot at multiple times. He ended up losing control of his vehicle and driving right into the Apartment Unit where three people were asleep inside. The three people are ok but the driver was pronounced dead on scene. I w sleep. Boom, boom, boom, pow. Everything went hell from there. Reporter he was inside the unit when a car came crashing through. He says thankflly, he and his two roommates were not in the living room. I did not think. Just reacted when i heard the crash, i had got on my feet and i saw the car and the dust and everything all around. I went back looking for a flashlight. I went back to the car and saw the guy bleeding. Reporter he says he called 911 as the driver was going in and out of consciousness. He was in and out. Reporter when police arrived, they got
She got into that pool by herself. But we are told that a bystander did perform cpr, but they are telling us that when crews were rushing her here to the hospital, she did not have a pulse. She was not breathing on her own. Some good news here tonight is that crews were able to restore a pulse but we are told that she was still not breathing on her own and is here on a ventilator tonight at phoenix childrens hospital. And as i mentioned, not sure just how long this little girl was left in the water there. We are not sure who was home at the familiment we know its labor day today. They could have been having some sort of family function. Just not sure exactly at this time what condition the little girl is in. Well stay out here. Coworkers and family tell us how they are trying to help the babys parents in this time of need. He is out of the hospital, but he is charged with first degree mother murder. Police tried to stop roger last month in his truck, officers say he sped off and ended up slamming into a car at an intersection. The driver of the car was killed. Her passenger was seriously hurt. The suspect was until late last week. The pictures are very difficult to look at. A tempe woman badly beaten by a guy that wanted her cell phone and her purse. Joe bartels is alive.
