New shelters for the unhoused popping up around Lane County

EUGENE, Ore. Lane County is rolling out new emergency pallet shelters for the unhoused, with many delivered to locations in the Eugene-Springfield metro area on Wednesday, Dec. 16.
There are two types of shelters, a 100 square foot shelter that can fit up to four people, and an 80 square foot shelter that can fit up to two people. Each shelter has the ability to run electricity so occupants can heat the shelter and plug-in devices that require power.
