PLANO, Texas Candee Carlson has experienced flooding at her East Plano property before, but nothing like what she s experiencing right now.
Carlson is the owner of Mill-Again Stables and she has 57 horses on her farm.
On Sunday, Plano saw 4.6 inches of rain in a relatively short span. It s like a white water river coming through here, said Carlson.
The downpour was significant enough, but when you combine that with the overflowing Rowlett Creek behind the property, it made for a really messy situation. There was up to a foot and a half of water in Carlson s barn. Her horse stalls had standing water inside.

McKINNEY It was an eccentric developer’s private fantasyland a multimillion-dollar replica Western town built from the ground up in the early 1980s on a patch of rural McKinney farmland.
In its final meeting of 2020, the Plano Planning and Zoning Commission voted unanimously Monday night to table three agenda items proposed by the North Texas Municipal Water District as part of the Plano Tomorrow Comprehensive Plan. Per the commissionâs vote, the revised plans will be revisited on Feb. 15.
âWe requested the item be moved to Feb. 15 so that we could incorporate some of the suggestions that the commission gave us on the Nov. 16 meeting,â said applicant Mark Simon, assistant deputy engineer of NTMWD, to the commission. âSo weâre looking at moving the operations building within the site further away from the front, and trying to incorporate more visible screening along Los Rios [Boulevard].â
