NAPA, CA Movie theaters went dark a year ago due to the coronavirus pandemic but as case rates fall and more people are vaccinated, it is Lights, Camera, Action as movie theaters including Cinemark reopen in Napa and nearby North Bay cities.
Cinemark s Century Napa Valley and XD movie theater in Napa has already reopened, and Cinemark s Vallejo Century 14 opens Friday.
Cinemark movie theaters have also reopened at Century Rowland Plaza in Novato and at Century Northgate and Century Regency in San Rafael.

Movie theater screens are lighting up across the Bay Area once again, but don’t expect a Hollywood ending just yet. The cinematic atmosphere in the Bay Area is more like a David Lynch film: strange, surreal and disjointed.
On the plus side, major theater chains AMC Theatres and Cinemark have reopened, as Alameda and Solano counties this week joined San Francisco, Santa Clara, Marin, San Mateo and Napa counties in advancing to the second-most-restrictive category of California’s reopening blueprint, from purple (widespread) to red (substantial). Alameda and Sonoma counties remain in the purple tier.

The projectors are ready to roll and the big screens in the Bay Area are about to light up once again, according to Cinemark, which announced Wednesday, Feb. 24, that several of its Century movie venues would be among the first indoor theaters in the area to welcome back filmgoers this month.
The decision comes after Marin and San Mateo counties advanced this week to the second-most-restrictive category of California’s reopening blueprint, from purple to red. Cinemark didn’t waste any time Century’s Redwood Downtown 20, Century at Tanforan in San Bruno and Century Northgate in San Rafael would reopen at 25% capacity on Friday, Feb. 26, according to the Texas-based movie theater chain.
