SALISBURY – Rowan-Cabarrus Community College has named eight outstanding students as official Ambassadors for 2022-2023. The student leaders were recognized by the College at a recent Board of Trustees meeting.

(WBTV) - Restrictions have now been lifted for graduation ceremonies at all Rowan-Salisbury Schools. Graduating seniors will be able to bring as many family members as they like, and masks will not be required. Last year many graduation ceremonies were drive thru like the one at Charlotte Motor Speedway for Cabarrus County Schools. This week, Rowan-Salisbury Schools made the decision to lift restrictions for outdoor graduations in the football stadium of each high school. The Rowan County Early College and Henderson Independent High School graduations will be held on alternate dates.

From Staff Reports KANNAPOLIS — Through her participation in COVID-19 research with the Duke Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI), Connelia Houston learned about a new study in Kannapolis for people of African descent. The Duke APOL1 Study at the N.C. Research Campus needs people like Houston who are 50 or older, have African ancestry and do not have kidney disease, diabetes or HIV. Houston, an attorney in Charlotte who lives in Harrisburg, decided to enroll. “I was interested in this study due to my African ancestry, and I was so very pleasantly surprised at how easy everything was,” Houston said. “I felt great after I did it.”
