• Granite B. Stockon, 20, of 828 Bluffs St., Hillview, is being sought on a warrant accusing him of failing to appear in court on a charge of possession of a controlled substance.
He is a white male standing 5 foot 9 and weighing 160 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes.
• Bryan T. McMillen, 43, of 332 Douglas St., Apt. 8, White Hall, is being sought on a warrant accusing him of failing to appear in court on a retail theft charge.

New Ward 1 Alderwoman Darcella Speed takes her oath of office during the May 10th Jacksonville City Council Meeting.
Public protection and utilities were the largest items requiring action last night for the new Jacksonville City Council. Prior to the workshop session, Ward 1 Alderwoman Darcella Speed was officially sworn in.
During the workshop session, Jamie Hedden of Benton & Associates gave a second presentation concerning Town Brook Rehabilitation. Hedden said that the Illinois Department of Natural Resources had completed a study on the best solution to eliminating flooding along the Town Brook. He said that IDNR had selected a plan of replacing two culverts at the railroad spur just north of Routt Street to allow for better flow of water. The plan says that 73 structures will be removed from the 100 year flood plain and present capitalized benefits of $5.7 million dollars. The project is estimated to cost a littl

ARRESTS, CITATIONS
• Steven D. Tucker, 30, homeless, was arrested at 9:37 p.m. Friday on a retail theft charge after being accused of taking two packages of crackers, together valued at $1.58, from Casey’s at 525 E. Morton Ave. He also was charged with burglary because of a report an hour earlier about a man going into a garage in the 800 block of Routt Street and trying to get into a car that was inside before being chased away by a resident. He also was arrested on an outstanding failure-to-appear warrant.
ACCIDENTS
• Corey W. Karr, 21, of Jacksonville was cited on a charge of failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident after the truck he was driving went out of control in the 300 block of West College Avenue at 4:57 p.m. Monday, jumped the curb, struck a tree and then hit the side of a building, which caused a window to break. Damage was estimated at $4,300.

He is a white male standing 5 foot 11 and weighing 150 pounds. He has hazel eyes and brown hair.
• Michael K. Spradlin, 48, of 215 E. Vandalia Road is being sought on a warrant accusing him of failing to appear in court on a violation of an order of protection.
