Police: Waterbury man, 20, killed in Ridgefield head-on collision

RIDGEFIELD A 20-year-old Waterbury man was killed in a head-on collision on Route 7 early Thursday that left both drivers trapped in their vehicles.
Police identified the driver who was killed as Jose Miguel Guillen-Hernandez.
The crash occurred shortly after 4 a.m., according to Ridgefield Police Capt. Shawn Platt.
“The two vehicles collided head-on and both operators needed to be extricated from their vehicles,” Platt said.
The driver of the other car, a 44-year-old Ridgefield woman, was transported to Danbury Hospital “for evaluation of their injuries,” he said.
