REGIONAL Although the COVID-19 pandemic has brought disruption to area school districts for the better part of a year, both students and staff have shown resilience in the face of change.
The Round-Lake Brewster school district has actually had a second obstacle: construction on the school building. The district pushed back its start date for the 2020-2021 school year due to an ongoing project.
The district started the year using a hybrid model, breaking students into two groups. In November, students moved into full distance learning for a couple of weeks as COVID cases surged, but otherwise the district has continued a combination of in-person and online school.
