Rotary Club of Akowonjo Plans Multi-million Naira Projects

As the new Rotary year begins, Rotary Club of Akowonjo has promised not to relent on its oars in community development by providing multi-million naira modern day borehole water facilities to communities within Akowonjo and the renovation of dilapidated classroom structures at the State Senior High School Alimosho, in the Alimosho Local Government area of Lagos State as its priority projects for the Rotary year 2021/2022. Speaking at the Presidential Handover Ceremony and Awards Night which took place recently at the Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja amidst pomp and pageantry, witnessed by Rotary dignitaries from the Rotary International District 9110, Rotarians from other clubs, guests and friends; the new President of Rotary Club of Akowonjo, Rotarian Victor Amaraegbu told reporters that in continuing with the good work past presidents of the club have done for over thirty five years especially his predecessor, Rotarian Olamide Abegunde, he will make the club prou

New Year Starts at Rotary Club of Akowonjo

By Omolabake Fasogbon Amidst pomp and pageantry, the new Rotary year commenced at the Rotary Club of Akowonjo as the baton of leadership exchanged hands from the immediate Past President Rotarian Olamide Abegunde to Victor Amaraegbu the new president of the club. At a well-attended handover ceremony which took place recently at the Lagos Airport Hotel, reminiscence of the Rotary tradition of transition at the close of a Rotary year every June and the commencement of a new one, the event was witnessed by Rotary dignitaries from the Rotary International District 9110, Rotarians from other clubs, guests and friends of Rotary who added colour to the occasion.

Rotary Club of Akowonjo Clocks 35

As Rotary International marks its 116 years this week, one of its affiliate clubs, Rotary Club of Akowonjo rolled out the drums on Monday to celebrate her 35 years in the service of humanity. The well-attended celebration which held at the Lagos Airport Hotel, venue of the club’s weekly fellowship, saw many of the club’s past presidents being honoured and decorated for keeping the club’s flag flying for over three decades. Speaking passionately at the event, a Charter member, Rotary Past Assistant Governor (Dr.) Olukayode Akinlade, went memory lane and espoused the various sacrifices members have made in ensuring that the club continued to remain relevant in the comity of Rotary clubs worldwide.
