Corey Seager hit by pitch (hand), leaves Dodgers game Field Level Media 16 May 2021, 13:55 GMT+10 Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Corey Seager left Saturday s game against the visiting Miami Marlins in the fifth inning after he was hit by a pitch in the right hand. Seager, who has been heating up after a slow stretch when the Dodgers were struggling earlier this month, was batting .391 with an .826 OPS and four RBIs in the five games before Saturday. Seager was trying to check his swing when a 90-mph sinker from Marlins right-hander Ross Detweiler hit him in the side of the hand above his right pinky finger. He doubled over in pain near home plate, started to progress toward first base then immediately left the game.
