During its regular session on Monday, Chillicothe City Council passed 5 pieces of legislation.
Chillicothe Council members passed ordinances to appropriate $8,000 to buy decorative sleeves and other items to update parking meters; to accept insurance reimbursement and appropriate funds to replace a traffic signal control panel; allowing the city to participate in ODOT s cooperative purchasing program for road salt. Council also passed resolutions for the city to apply for the Safe Routes to School Project and the Ross County Parks District to apply for grant funds.
An ordinance supporting a Community Yard Sale June 4-6, 2021, without requiring the $5 permit fee will move on for a second reading.

A request to support the Ross County Park District’s application for Clean Ohio Trails Fund grants, and to take part in the Recreational Trails Program, is under consideration in a Chillicothe City Council committee.
The Parks and Rec Department, along with the Ross County Parks District and the Coppel Athletic Complex Board, are hoping to extend the bike path with the Coppel Trail Extension Project which would provide additional opportunities for citizens to walk, run, bike, and explore the community.
Elsewhere, a request to appropriate funds from the city’s safety levy capital fund for the installation of MARCS radio systems and extra equipment is under consideration in a Chillicothe City Council committee. It’s a request for $6,997.73
