taking time out from their final exam schedule. it is expected to be another emotional day on the campus of virginia tech as thousands gathered to honor deriek crouse, the campus policeman who was fatally shot last week. he was conducting a routine traffic stop last thursday when the suspected shooter 22-year- old ross ashley walked up to his car and fatally shot him before turning the gun on himself. i cannot understand the concept. how can someone walked up and shoot a police officer. for no apparent reason? deriek crouse had been with the department four years joining months after the 2007 campus massacre. if there was any person soldier, police of a stir that was a good person that would help anybody, it was him. hundreds gathered just before a viewing for the 39-year-old, one of the many signs of support. down the street at a baptist church the pastor prayed for deriek crouse. we are thankful for the work they do and we don t forget when they go out there that
