STOCKTON Two days after its first home win of the season, the Pacific women’s basketball team looked like a completely different group.
In its second consecutive home game, the Tigers quickly fell behind Santa Clara in the first quarter and was forced to play from behind all afternoon long. Pacific scratched its way back to a four-point deficit with less than a minute to play, but ultimately the hole that the Tigers dug themselves into ended up being too deep, as the Tigers (4-3, 2-2 WCC) fell to the Broncos 77-74 at the Spanos Center.

It was 288 days ago when the Pacific women’s basketball team last won a basketball game, defeating Santa Clara in the West Coast Conference Tournament. That streak was wiped away after Saturday’s game against LSU.
The Tigers (1-1) opened its back-to-back weekend slate in Las Vegas with a 73-64 victory over LSU (1-4) to rebound from their season-opening loss to No. 1 Stanford, and record the program’s first ever win against the Tigers.
“It feels good. We almost forgot what it feels like and what we typically do after a win,” Pacific head coach Bradley Davis said. “288 days. That’s crazy. It has been a long time.”
