Rare moa bones unearthed during Manawatū highway project Newshub 3 hrs ago Workers on a Manawatū highway project have made a rare and historic find.  Moa bones were unearthed three weeks ago and are now being investigated at a Palmerston North Museum. The construction workers digging through the Ruahine Range were paving the way for a new highway to replace the Manawatū Gorge - but instead, they unearthed ancient bones.  Lonnie Dalzell from Waka Kotahi says the experience was meaningful. It was interesting to see how the different workers reacted. It was quite a spiritual thing for some people, others were nervous because they thought it might have been koiwi [human remains] as well.

A 27-year-old man has pleaded guilty to a hit and run, which left a Wellington woman with serious injuries. Anna Chesterfield was walking across a pedestrian crossing when Jade Mark Harris hit her and drove away. In an exclusive TV interview, Anna Chesterfield told Newshub she forgives him. Chesterfield is still lying in a hospital bed, almost three weeks after she was run over on a pedestrian crossing. She broke at least six bones, some in her face.  Her right leg was shattered. She says she feels like a baby again as she has to relearn how to walk.

That is amusing. Prentious. Obvious as well. I just prefer to keep people from looking at my desks. Cables everywhere (I currently have 18 USB ports active in the desk). Hardware. Test equipment. Coffee cups. Pens & hardcopy. Laptops. Flash drives and external hdds. Phones. Pads. etc Instead, they look at the lights above me or (at home) at a mini kitchen. gsays 1.3.1 Your workspace sounds like my workshop. A litany of unfinished projects; flagon holders from repurposed pallets, a proof of concept star roller for making firework stars, containers of grape, willow and pine charcoal waiting for processing into biochar or aforementioned fireworks…, charcoal retort mark 2 nearly finished, remnants of quart bottles of home brew that became bottle bombs.

It s become an economic zone (it has natural respurces for export), one handed off to China for exploitation. Now a port is Chinese controlled and is being fenced off from the wider region. A bit like Hong Kong in its 1897-1997 phase. Formerly the Pakistan government kidnapped local nationalists. Now in Sweden and a few days ago in Canada Baluchi nationalists in exile have drowned.
