The University of Chicago Faculty for Justice in Palestine on Monday reaffirmed support for the “peaceful, welcoming and educational space” students had created and called on school leadership to return to “good-faith” negotiations.
In emails addressed to members of the University community, Alivisatos and Rasmussen emphasized UChicago’s commitment to free speech while explicitly stating the encampment is in violation of University policy.
The settlement was reached in the antitrust lawsuit alleging that UChicago, among sixteen other universities, was part of a price-fixing cartel that collectively determined financial aid amounts.
