THIS WEEK: New business may come thanks to rezoning in Sugar Land By Roy Kent, Staff writer
The rezoning of a parcel of land in Sugar Land could bring some new business to a site that has remained unused for nearly a year, thanks in large part to the ongoing pandemic.
The city of Sugar Land’s is scheduled to meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, to discuss the rezoning of a property along U.S. Highway 59 and Parkway Boulevard south of Sugar Creek Boulevard.
According to the city, the site of the proposed rezoning is the former 24-hour Fitness location that has been vacant since March of 2020. The business reportedly closed due to the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
