Can you even imagine where our healthcare system would be without nurses. As a career, it’s a great opportunity to help people and make a difference in their lives, says Rosemary Frketich, VP Clinical Services & CNO for the Middlesex Hospital Alliance. And, in spite of the stress generated by the COVID-19 pandemic, nurses at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital and Four Counties Hospital in Newbury are holding up well, says Frketich.
LONDON, ONT. The Strathoy Middlesex General Hospital is dealing with an outbreak of COVID-19 on its second floor inpatient unit. Vice President of Clinical Services and Chief Nursing officer, Rosemary Frketich, says one patient has tested positive. Hospital officials say they are working closely with the Middlesex-London Health Unit for the investigation. So far, no other patients or any staff members have tested positive as of Saturday. “We do have a small number of staff that we are continuing to test as per the guidelines we have been instructed.” Frketich says all other patients on the second floor inpatient unit have been tested and their results came back negative of COVID-19 as of Saturday.
