Funeral services took place Nov. 30 for Carrie Deans, of Jersey City. She passed away on Thursday, Nov. 19, of natural causes. Carrie was born May 14, 1949, in Midville, Ga., to Lula Mae Glover and Bea Chandler. She was the oldest of six children. She was raised in Augusta, Ga., before the family relocated to Jersey City when she was a teenager. She was a graduate of Snyder High School, Jersey City, and St Peter’s College, where she received her B.A. in Social Work. Carrie was married to William Deans Sr. and from the union Tinika and William Deans Jr. were born. Carrie worked for the Division of Youth and Family Services for more than 35 years before retirement. With the agency she worked as a pre-school teacher, a case manager and an adoption recruitment specialist. Preceding her in death were her parents; her ex-husband, William Deans Sr.; her sister, Joyce Battle; brother-in-law, Burley Battle Sr.; her brothers, Kent and Caesar Glover, and her sister-in-la
