Fairfield church food pantries help with staples, more year-round
FAIRFIELD Three local churches hosted food giveaways Wednesday to brighten the holiday mood by providing meat and staples for the table.
Elaine Brotzky was among the first ones at the Seventh-day Adventist Church to pick up some turkey as well as other staples. The turkey will be her Christmas dinner.
“It helps a lot,” she said. “I live on Social Security.”
Patrick Siverand oversees the distribution which has been going on for more than three years. He said he expected to serve about 360 people Wednesday – a total of about 55 families.
