The proposal, for land adjacent to the River Aire between Calverley Bridge and Apperley Bridge, includes flood defences. Step Two of the Leeds Flood Alleviation Scheme Phase 2 would include a Flood Storage Reservoir, with plant and machinery, and flood defences to include walls, sheet piling, earth bunds, scour protection and associated access, landscaping, demolition, building and construction works. The granting of planning permission does not affect owners’ rights to retain or dispose of their property, unless there is some provision to the contrary in an agreement or in a lease.
