At Barnstable Harbor Marina last week, a group of 16-to-19-year-olds painted five wooden pilings to show where the mean high tide is today and where it could be with one, two, three, four, and five feet of sea level rise, which could happen by the end of the century as a result of climate change.

SALEM– Dale M. Triplett, 69, died at Sunday, March 7, 2021 at her residence. Dale was born on June 14, 1951 in Webster Springs, WV, the daughter of Bud and Inez (Vaughn) Cogar.
Dale cleaned offices and banks with her husband Bill. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Salem. One of Dale’s true joys was fishing.
Survivors include her husband, Oscar “Bill” Triplett, whom she married on February 14, 1990; one son, Marvin (fiance’ Tonia Maines) Crites of Salem; siblings, Lonnie (Shelia) Cogar of Webster Springs, WV, Ida (Johnny) McDaniels of Buckhannon, WV, Rose Bancroft of Webster Springs, WV, Russie (Larry) Unger of Buckhannon, WV, and Retha Giles of Cowen, WV and six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
