More than 350 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine have been bought for UK citizens. Now that the first injection has been administered, it’s full steam ahead to vaccinate the rest of the nation
Since 90-year-old Margaret Keenan received the first vaccination earlier this month, the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine has been made available to the entire UK, free on the NHS at the point of delivery.
Dr Julie Yates is one of the medical experts helping to roll it out through her work with the NHS and the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI), which decides who it’s administered to.
