Readers have reacted after the news that traffic wardens are set to clampdown on fast food delivery drivers if they park illegally in Barrow. Wewanttoknowthetruth said: “It’s about time and should focus at bottom of Dalton Road where there are parking spaces and they park on the pedestrian area.” Samuel Iskinazi said: “Wow yes and please come to Ulverston, know that they have a job but that does not justify them taking the Michael.” Liz O’brien: “They would have a field day in Dalton!” Publicists said: “I suggest you patrol Holbeck Road where double yellow lines are regularly ignored whilst people attend Roose chippy. You might need a few books of tickets judging by the chaos and inconsiderate and dangerous parking that occurs there daily.”

Police are appealing for witnesses following the report of a burglary and act of arson in Barrow on Boxing Day.Â
The incident occurred at a property on Roose Road at around 6pm.Â
A house was broken into and a fire was started in a room on the ground floor.

Derelict property blaze in Barrow
Fire crews tackled a blaze in a derelict property in Barrow yesterday.
Two fire engines attended the incident at the building on Church Court, Roose Road, at about 6.20pm.
They were on the scene for around 40 minutes.
