interview. there s so much going on. we want to get the court ruling, which we will, but first, i wanted to get your thoughts, really, on the interview that you did and i want to play for our viewers the part where you did discuss what is a huge issue for the nation right now, one president who does oversee a doj, while a former president awaits trial. i want to play from your interview. i made a commitment that i would not in any way interfere with the justice department, who they prosecuted, if they prosecuted, how they proceeded. i ve not spoken once, not one single time, with the attorney general on any specific case. not once. i have faith the justice department will move in the direction that is consistent with the law. and so, it may take time, but i have faith that they re going to do the right but i ve not spoken about that. the president s answer there to you, i m curious your thoughts.on t surprise you that it was rachel maddow that sort of articulated this b
matter, because it s a one out of ten, one out of a hundred room, and the people in those rooms go on to congress, and they go on to the fortune boards, and they go on to the supreme court. and now, this court has said that those institutions and the government have to get out of the diversity game. and why? because we re all supposed to be colorblind already. so, ask yourself this, and then we re going to bring in our experts. who do you know who can say they re colorblind and pass a lie detector test? who do you know who can sign a sworn affidavit and say they re colorblind? and what does it mean to even claim you want to be colorblind or genderblind if the people pushing that are the ones telling you that to care about gender or racial diversity is itself to make you, the person who s pushing discrimination? some of it doesn t make sense for the same reasons i showed you earlier. it doesn t make sense for the reason that the same supreme court ruled the opposite many more times than
the context for what s happening in our country right now, and i will also get into not only their impact and not only what the court says, but the obvious reality that what has also changed is what you see on your screen, the court s composition. three justices appointed by donald trump. you see some of them there, and when he announced them. and those new members of the court, more than anything else that you can find in the text of the constitution or the law, is what changed. in other words, political change, not legal change. and those trump appointees have hardened the conservative block on this court. to be clear, justice roberts has long opposed what are often called the remedial measures that drive modern civil rights policy in america. and this is not law school. i m not going to go into all the weeds of it, but i m going to simplify it and summarize it by saying that when the american system, through congress and through its institutions like schools, has tried to address th
