Roomful of Blues - There Goes the Neighborhood (10 tracks) +Album Reviews

Roomful of Blues Backseat Blues The Comeback There Goes the Neighborhood, like much of Roomful s oeuvre, is a fairly standard set of blues offerings with more than a hint of rock, dripping with horns and studded with blistering guitar and piano solos. There s an a.   more »ppropriate mix of mid-tempo tunes (Backseat Blues, Blue, Blue World, the title track), up-tempo rockers (Just Like Dynamite, She s Mine), and slower, moodier pieces (Lost Mind, I Smell Trouble, The Comeback), though all the material is focused on light-heartedness and entertainment. If there s not much innovation here, that s not exactly a problem; Roomful hums along like a well-oiled machine, every part in place and never missing a beat. Genevieve Williams

Ten O clock Blues 2 13 21

• Jan 30, 2021 Selwyn Birchwood just kind of sounds dangerous - his guitar playing, his gravelly baritone voice and his bari sax driven horn section just make his album Living in a Burning House sound like the Evel Knievel of blues bands. It s cool. just don t let kids listen! Well put the little ones to bed and tune in to hear from Birchwood, The Black Keys and a classic from Magic Sam on this episode of the TOB. © 2021 KWIT 712-274-6406 business line . 1-800-251-3690 studio Email: info@kwit.org
