I would like to thank george for hearing the program. And think the Commonwealth Club for having me. To tell you, i plan several things about the bridge. First of all, i wrote this particular Book Building the Golden Gate Bridge a workers oral history, and to give you some a struggle background about the bridge, and finally to read some selected passages from the book. I may labor historian who ventured into oral history in the 1980s. When i was working on a project for the International Longshore and Warehouse Union on the west coast. Famous union. Forterviewed some veterans the labor archives. At San Francisco state university. Aredirector there, these veterans let helps build the Golden Gate Bridge in 1930 between 1933 and 1937 when the bridge was built. They were interviewed for the 50th anniversary of t
