The sheriff of an eastern North Carolina county says a bystander shot a man who was assaulting deputies. Lenoir County Deputies were wrapping up a trespassing call on Neuse Road Thursday afternoon when Sheriff Ronnie Ingram said the suspect began assaulting them.
