ronna foroohar, thank you for your expertise, we appreciate it. thank you. as people head back home after thanksgiving, the tsa expects tomorrow will be its busiest day of the holiday travel period. the u.s. already hit a pandemic air travel record on wednesday. cnn s pete muntean has more on that. reporter: now begins the process of everybody who left town for thanksgiving coming home all at once. and the numbers have been really big. aaa projected that 48 million people would drive for the thanksgiving holiday. that number really not a far off from 2019 before the pandemic, only about a 3% difference. the bottom line here is that traffic is back, and so is the expense. the average price of a gallon of regular now around $3.40 nationwide. that s up about $1.30 from where we were this time last year. i talk to folks that told me expense could not get in the way

what we ve been hearing on the campaign trail and nobody can fault him for not staying with what he s doing, the question is, is it the right policy? i would say if you look at tax cuts as a way of spurring growth which is what the president hopes is going to happen in order to not run up for deficit and debt. we re talking about unfunded tax cuts he s proposing to do that and thinking the growth will go up to 3% or 4% with tax cuts getting rid of regulation. i would argue we have no evidence in 20 years that s happened and i don t think that s a bipartisan point. if you look at the bush tax cuts in 2001 or 2003, no lasting growth. same with tax cuts under obama. i happen to think that that s just not the grway to get to growth but i think addressing deeper issues of income inequality are important but some of the programs you re talking about may be a way of doing that but lots of ways of doing that and that s what we should be talking about. we ll leave it right there. steven mille
