UC Berkeley junior and current ASUC Senator Ronit Sholkoff is running for ASUC president with the goal of creating a smooth transition back to campus and improving student access to resources.
Her platforms are moving back to campus with intention as the COVID-19 pandemic ends; expanding diversity, equity and inclusion; creating campus resiliency before future crises; and strengthening wellness resources for students in areas such as mental health and sexual violence and sexual harassment. Sholkoff is the Student Action party’s sole presidential candidate.
ASUC discusses COVID-19 student risks, digital textbooks

One of the topics discussed during the ASUC’s general meeting was the Inclusive Access porgram, which would provide digital course content rather than printer texts. The material would be uploaded to bCourses automatically for courses that take part in the program, and students would be charged through university billing.
At the ASUC’s general meeting Wednesday, the subcommittee on student risks and Inclusive Access program presented about the struggles students face and the shift to digitizing course content.
Karen Hughes, health educator at University Health Services, and Leona Chen, risk analyst with the campus Office of Risk Services, presented to get input from the ASUC senators on COVID-19 related risks they see emerging in their communities.

The Student Action party announced its executive candidate slate and transfer representative candidate Sunday evening for the upcoming ASUC elections.
Current ASUC Senator Ronit Sholkoff, who has formerly worked at The Daily Californian, is running for ASUC president. Aditya Varma, current chief of staff to ASUC Senator Ruchi Shah, is the executive vice president candidate. Current ASUC Senator Mateo Torrico is running for academic affairs vice president, and Jake Mehari is running for the transfer representative position.
